Healthy sea vegetables are well known and popular, especially in the form of sushi: fresh fish and seaweed sheets form the basis for these artfully designed delicacies.
The seaweed nori is used for many of the variants and serves as the outer layer of sushi rolls. However, nori can also be found, in crushed form, in various Japanese spice mixtures. Our seaweed salad is also used as a seasoning.
It is a mixture of three types of algae:
- sea lettuce (Ulva sp.), a green algae that looks like lettuce leaves,
- dulse (Palmaria palmata), a red algae, and
- nori (Porphyra sp.), a red algae that is well known in sushi cuisine.

With the seaweed salad, you can add a special flavour to your dishes. Simply add it to soups or salads, steam it together with vegetables or add it to rice dishes and omelettes.
