What are your responsibilities?
As founder and managing director, I am responsible for our maritime natural cosmetics Oceanwell and ensure that our customers enjoy them.
Why are you at oceanBASIS?
The idea of using sustainably cultivated algae to develop products that are healthy for people and the sea excites me.
You love the sea because...?
For me, the sea means endless space and tranquillity and at the same time enormous vitality and diversity.

As a scientist, I deal with the development of sustainable aquaculture and environmental assessment. As the managing director, I am the girl for everything, and together with my managing director colleagues I deal with the entire company development, as well as personnel and financial issues.
When oceanBASIS emerged from the parent company CRM (Coastal Research & Management), I was there as a co-founder from the very beginning... and have remained so ever since.
...I don't know why. But ever since I can remember, I have dreamed of living and working by the sea.
Susanne Woldmann

What are your tasks?
I am responsible for the production planning and implementation of the algae extracts and supervise some research projects.
Why are you at oceanBASIS?
At the end of my studies I needed an internship as well as a topic for my diploma thesis, both of which I found at oceanBASIS... and I stayed.
You love the ocean because...?
(Actually, I think forests are nicer, but pssst!!!!!;-) ) ... unlike in the mountains, you can see a long way.

Product development, sustainable packaging (recyclability, LCA), changing research projects on the topics of active ingredients and sustainable packaging materials.
During my studies in biotechnology and process engineering, I was constantly involved with active ingredients and formulation development, so my career aspirations were clear. For the compulsory internship and the bachelor's thesis, I looked for companies with whom I shared the same values in the implementation of cosmetics and that's when I came across Oceanwell. After that, things went very quickly and because everything is also very unique between people, I'm still happy that I was able to stay.

What are your tasks?
My diverse field of activity ranges from processing in the "actives" area to image processing and literature research to registration and documentation of our products.
Why are you at oceanBASIS?
The variety of tasks - and of course the unbelievably beautiful workplace with a sea view directly at the Tiessenkai - make this job a dream job.
You love the sea because...?
As a Kieler born under the star sign "Aquarius", the sea means movement and love for me - but also magic and infinity; that's why I like to go swimming from March to October before I start work.

In addition to the fixed tasks of production control and accounting, there are always other interesting projects that I can get involved in. This keeps it varied and colourful.

I was very fascinated by the philosophy. The focus is on the employee. You notice that and it motivates you immensely.

...it always shows itself differently and completely unpredictably and I don't know anything that is as beautiful to look at even in the worst weather.

I make sure that our valuable products reach our customers safely. I am also responsible for filling our special products for our specialist customers.
The company philosophy, the mutual appreciation and the trusting and respectful interaction with each other are very precious and valuable to me.
The sea is my home port and my source of strength for all situations in life. I start every day with swimming in the sea, no matter what the temperature or the weather. Swimming in the sea all year round strengthens me on all levels.
